Moreton Hall Prep School are opening their doors and welcoming families in to experience a Prep Discovery Afternoon.

Nestled away in 100 acres of countryside, Moreton Hall has been providing pupils with excellent education for many years. Rated ‘Outstanding’ by the ISI in 2023, Moreton Hall knows how important it is for children to get the right start in education, and Moreton Prep offers a happy, supportive and high-achieving foundation for children.

Moreton Prep opened twenty years ago with the sole aim to introduce younger pupils to the same exceptional education that the Senior School provides. The Prep School has access to the same high-end facilities, swimming in Moreton’s fully refurbished swimming pool, learning the fundamentals of science in the Centenary Science Centre, or performing in the Holroyd Community Theatre, a first-class professional theatre space overlooking the grounds of Moreton Hall.

The Prep Discovery Afternoon has been carefully curated to allow families a chance to take a closer look at the school and its facilities. Families will get the opportunity to understand what it is that makes Moreton so magical, getting to experience first-hand the nurturing family environment, where every child is understood and most importantly, valued.

The Discovery Afternoon will also allow you to meet Prep teachers as well the Head of Prep, Deborah Speakman, to understand what it is pupils will be learning when they step through the doors every morning. Our young visitors will take part in exciting forest school activities as we offer tours around our Prep and Senior School facilities to families.

Mrs Deborah Speakman, Head of Prep said: “I firmly believe that young people should be encouraged to aim as high as they can whilst also enjoying their childhood, and benefitting from as many opportunities and experiences as possible. I actively encourage muddy knees, paint splattered aprons and boundless curiosity.”

Moreton offers a unique curriculum in the sense that it weaves traditional academic subjects and the opportunity to discover children’s own areas of passion, whether that be in drama, music or sport. Moreton Hall also values Outdoor Education highly, not only because it builds children’s confidence, creativity and imagination but because children are given the chance to learn in a naturally stimulating, safe and meaningful environment. From pond dipping, to building dens and caring for animals on Cornflower Farm, Moreton understands that nature plays a pivotal role in the development of children, especially in supporting their wellbeing and happiness.

Outdoor learning is an immersive experience which opens avenues of critical thinking, and at Moreton Hall, budding artists can forgo their paint brushes to create a collage of nature whilst Moreton Hall’s amphitheatre is the perfect backdrop for summer productions and concerts.  Moreton Hall Prep is an inclusive environment where all children are supported, nurtured and challenged to enable them to reach their potential. Prep pupils are guided sensitively to the next stage of their education and are given ample opportunities to push themselves and learn.

We recognise that childhood is a wonderful precious time and our idyllic environment and nurturing family atmosphere is an ideal place for children to flourish.
