We’ve become a nation of coffee lovers – the evidence is everywhere, from the high street to clothes retailers, petrol forecourts to leisure venues. The demand is forever increasing, but what about at home? Many of us have invested in one of the latest must-haves – the coffee machine, but many more of us still drink a cup of instant coffee or use a cafetiere.

Oswestry-based coffee specialists Bridge Coffee are seeking to improve the quality of the coffee that we drink at home, with the launch of a new online business. Owner Mark Derham commented: “We’ve been supplying coffee shops and caterers for 17 years, and have often been asked where people can buy our coffees for use at home. Whilst we’ve always offered smaller pack sizes to people that asked, we’ve never really offered it to a wider market.”

The new venture will offer a variety of completely different coffees either as whole beans or pre-ground. Initially there will be a choice of 10 coffees, each with a unique taste. “Coffees are more complex in taste and aroma than wine,” explains Mark, “with a Kenyan coffee for example having a sharp acidity, whilst a Colombian coffee is very rounded with a nutty taste.”

Tea lovers are also catered for, with over 20 different leaf teas and infusions available, with more being added all the time. There will also be a range of brewing equipment for the serious home enthusiast, including espresso machines and grinders.

To launch the business to the local community, Mark is offering free delivery on all new coffee and tea orders before 31 December. Simply visit www.bridgecoffee.co.uk and enter the coupon code “OswestryLife” at the checkout.
