On Wednesday 5th April, the Commercial Services Department at North Shropshire College (NSC) staged their annual fashion show. The show comprised the latest fashion from Dorothy Perkins Oswestry in the first half and during the second half students modelled Avant-garde images from around the world, based on the theme, ‘Around the World in 80 Days.’

All areas of the department contributed to the successful event. Plumbing students created a copper archway for the catwalk, floristry students created the table centre pieces, hospitality and catering students prepared and served a delicious two course meal, the hair and beauty students researched and created an image which included costume, hair and makeup. Students from Independent Living and Hair and Beauty modelled during the evening as did staff from across the College.

The Show has raised £500 for Hope House. Sharon Cooper, Curriculum Manager for Commercial Services commented, ‘It was an extremely successful evening, students and staff worked together to make the evening vibrant and exciting for those in the audience to watch. The event allowed students to be stretched and challenged and utilise a range of skills including Maths and English to enrich the learning experience. We are really pleased to once again support a local charity with this money.’

If you would like to apply now for courses in Commercial Services, you can do so via the College website at www.nsc.ac.uk or call the Admissions Team on 01691 688080.
