To achieve 1st degree black belt, it takes a minimum of four years training and for 2nd degree black belt a further two years of training. Oswestry Tae Kwon Do club came home with 3 outstanding achievements by three of their members.
Carl Willmott – promoted to 2nd Degree Black Belt.
Lily Ryder – promoted to 1st Degree Black Belt.
Sam Fielding – achieved his Junior 3-star award.
The black belt grading took place 8, 9 and 10 of April. The students were put through their paces by 6, 9th degree black belt grand masters. They were graded on their ability to perform a range of techniques, patterns (a sequence of techniques and movements performed in a particular order), sparring, self-defence and theory (knowledge and understanding of Tae Kwon Do).
Carl Rudolf, 5th Degree Black Belt Instructor said, “Carl, Lily and Sam have all trained incredibly hard for years to achieve their promotions, whilst also helping out in classes.”
