Six ladies from a popular ladies gym in Oswestry – Zest Ladies Health and Fitness – are attempting the notorious 3 peak challenge on June 27th and raising much needed funds for The Alzheimer’s Society.
Zest have always raised money for charities, local and nationwide but this year decided to select Alzheimer’s Society as many of their members have been touched in some way by this dreadful disease and wanted to help. Training started a year ago with the gym Proprietor – Pauline Lacey asking gym members to join her for 2017. The team has now been agreed with ages ranging from 21 – 58 and all are totally committed to the training required and are determined to complete the 3 peaks within the 24 hour period.
Pauline Lacey – Proprietor of Zest said: This challenge is not for the fair hearted – you have to commit to the training otherwise you will fail – no question. Several of our ladies have already made trips to Ben Nevis and Scafel to practise and we have all climbed Snowdon several times. Some of our newer recruits are working hard to catch up with their fitness goals and we have devised special gym training programmes to build up stamina and muscular strength and endurance.
Zest Ladies Health and Fitness will be raising money locally at their gym and recruiting the help of the local newspapers to publicise their efforts. Two 9 seater mini buses will be needed for the event so if anyone would like to get involved and perhaps attract local advertising for their business, please get in touch. Pauline Lacey 07855 367771
