Oswestry-based Aico, are always eager to take on a challenge, especially when it comes to raising money for charity and Red Nose Day was not different.
Today (Friday 18th March), Aico colleagues travelled back to the 80’s, dressing from head to toe in neon colours, leg warmers and as their favourite classic movie characters from iconic films of the decade, from Maverick to Marty McFly. Colleagues enjoyed a marathon of 80’s music throughout the day and even took part in a competitive but friendly game of musical chairs.
Aico support Red Nose Day every year through their CSR programme, ‘Aico in Community’ which strives to deliver safer homes through engaging with communities and promoting best practice. This year, the 80’s themed fundraiser saw colleagues raise over £250 for this great cause.
Through Red Nose Day, Comic Relief aim to make a difference to the lives of millions of people across the UK and around the world. This year Comic Relief have pledged to focus part of their efforts towards the on-going situation in Ukraine as they support civilians attempting to cross the border.
Marketing Executive, Matt Powell was in amongst the musical chairs action and added “It is always good fun getting stuck into Aico’s fundraising days. Through Aico in the Community, fundraising and charity work has become second nature to myself and all my colleagues. It was great to see a wide range of outfits and especially entertaining seeing the competitive sides shine through during musical chairs”.
