Oswestry Town Charities are seeking to appoint two Co-optative Trustees to support the management of these important local charities.
Oswestry Town Charities comprise the Charities of Eure & Smale (Smales Cottage Almshouses) and the Richard Wycherley Charity.
The charities are administered by three Nominative Trustees, two Co-optative Trustees together with three Ex-officio Trustees being the Vicar of Oswestry, the Minister of the Holy Trinity Church and President of Churches Together in Oswestry.
Trustees have independent control over, and legal responsibility for the charities management and administration. A trustee plays an important, unpaid role that contributes significantly to those it supports. Being a trustee can be rewarding for many reasons – from a sense of making a difference to the charitable cause, to new experiences and relationships.
Trustees will require a good understanding of Oswestry, be over 18 and be willing to attend four meetings per year. Experience of managing housing and/or services to elderly residents would be an advantage. For further information and an application form contact: –

Applications will close on the 1st of December 2023 and the charities will meet on the 13th of December to review all applications.
