Throughout August, Qube in Oswestry will be hosting an exhibition by local photographer Steve Jones.

Born in Oswestry, Steve is a freelance cameraman working exclusively for BBC News. His passion for photography began whilst serving in the British Military within various conflict zones across the world.

As a photographer his landscape photography concentrates on the raw beauty found amid the British countryside in the settings of North East England, Lake Windermere and North Wales.

With a focus on contemporary architecture, Steve’s photography also centres on social documentary found across the world. Portraying street life in the countries of America, Portugal and Morocco, his images emphasise the people living in those locations.

Favouring black and while imagery, his photography captures purely what is seen before the lens; using little in the way of digital processing to complete the final image.

An exhibition of Steve’s work will be on display at Qube until the end of August. It is free to visit and there is no need to book. Qube is open 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday and Saturday’s 9:30am to 12:30pm.
