Two young lads from Oswestry are going to attempt to ride their bicycles from Oswestry all the way to Rhayader!
Zech who is 10 and Jamie who is 14 often visit Zech’s grandparents in Rhayader for a cycling holiday. This time they want to cycle from their hometown rather than be taken by car. They also want to try and raise money for Hope House at the same time and are aiming to smash an amazing £1000 target!
The journey, set to take place on 13/08/2018, is a distance of 55 miles or 89 kilometres. It will start at the Bike Works Cycle Shop in Oswestry and finish in Rhayader at The Rhayader Cyclery, taking the boys an incredible 9 hours to complete!
The route will be via the main road and pass through Morda (visiting Hope House along the way), Welshpool, Newtown, Caersws, Llandinum, Llanidloes, Llangurig and finally Rhayader.
For safety reasons, Zech and Jamie’s dads and two of their granddads will be outriders along the journey, but as the family says, “This journey is all about Zech and Jamie doing their bit to raise money for a very worthwhile charity and they deserve all the support they can get. They cannot give money but they can supply the event for you to support.”
Their JustGiving page can be found here and both Hope House and the family would be very grateful for any donations in support of Zech and Jamie’s amazing challenge.
A huge thank you from everyone at Hope House to Zech and Jamie for their inspiring kindness, bravery and determination in taking on this incredible challenge! A huge thank you also to their lovely family who are supporting them on their journey.
